Oona Huhtala

Oona Huhtala is a Project Manager at XD Solutions, where she works across both the company and the Digital Defence Ecosystem on defence innovation and NATO-related programmes.

Oona brings a distinctive combination of backgrounds to the role: a security-cleared reserve officer with a Master’s in International Business and Entrepreneurship, and a track record of research that bridges economic thinking with the operational realities of defence.

Her Master’s thesis analysed the structure and performance of Finland’s defence innovation system, identifying key friction points and growth opportunities from the perspective of startup actors.

She is drawn to problems that resist easy solutions, and to the work of turning systemic complexity into tangible results.
