Organised by XD Solutions on assignment from the Finnish Defence Forces, the event provided a rare opportunity to validate cutting-edge defence technologies in extreme Arctic conditions and gather information for further development.
Over five intensive days, participants from 29 countries were presented with technological solutions by 150 defence technology companies in live demonstrations, field testing, and a technology exhibition.
Griffin Tech Days is built around field validation. Technologies are tested in real terrain and weather, and in direct interaction with end users, including Finnish Defence Forces special operations units.
The 2026 edition focused on capabilities critical to modern warfare in northern environments. Over three days of field trials, the demonstrated technologies included unmanned systems and counter-UAS solutions, navigation solutions, and command and control systems.
For many international companies, the opportunity to test systems in temperatures below –25°C was unprecedented. Morning temperatures dropped to –30°C, creating an operational environment that many international participants described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Companies participating in the field tests and demonstrations gained real, high-quality user experience and invaluable insight that cannot be replicated in a laboratory environment. The organisers received highly positive feedback from the Finnish Defence Forces, NATO member states, and participating companies.
